Codes for Friends:
Characters Example:Ross, Joey, Chandler, Rachel, Monica, Pheobe.
Storyline Example: Different Storylines, but mainly a group of friends going through everyday life.
Setting Example: Mostly peoples apartments and a coffee shop, rarely anywhere else.
Sound Example:The sound has both non diagetic sound, as the audience can hear sounds such as laughing from the audience in the studio, and diagetic sound such as evryday sounds and sounds that they do not notice.
Conventions for Friends:
Opening scene: In friends every show starts with a opening scene before opening titles. Break music will introduce us to scenes that follow also
Opening Titles: We know that from watching friends that we will expect the same theme tune and characters.
Slogans: We know that certain characters have catch phrases that will appear at sometime through the show.
