Genre Convenstions

Inbetweeners:
The sub genre for the Inbetweeners is comedy,the Inbetweeners is a series because each episodes has a different storyline however it sticks to the same lead characters within each episode.

Characters:
The characters in the Inbetweeners is based on four different boys, who are all best friends the group consists of Will who is the most intelligent one within the group as he aspires a career in law the others see him as the most boring one as he doesnt like to get involved in typical boy things such as drinking,partying and girls but throughout the series Will's constantly dragged into it due to another character called Jay. He is completly different to Will as he loves sex,girls and drinking. He's not self conscious and is very lively.Neil on the other hand lacks any intelligence and believes anything Jay tells him, he's ditzy and the funny one out the group. Lastly Simon is one of the sensible ones and is into typical boy stuff however he's inlove with Carly and spends most of his time talking about her.

Narratives:
The narratives of the Inbetweeners normally revolves around school,parties and road trips.Within each episode it brings a new narrative each as funny as the last, the boys are constantly in hilarious awkward situations and most of the time getting in trouble.The Inbetweeners focuses on how teenage boys act in everyday life, which revolves around sex,girls and getting in trouble.

Familiar settings:
Within each episode we see familiar settings such as; School corridors, common rooms, in the car and also in their homes. We see new settings when the boys leave the area for school trips or road trips such as; the seaside, Thorpe park and a caravan park.But in most episodes we see the four boys at school or at home.

Dialogue:
Within the Inbetweeners we see all different types of dialogue however most revolves or relates to girls and sex, the dialogue used is based to entertain an older audience because theres a lot of swearing and also references to sex,which is not always appropriate for younger audiences.

Music:
The music used in the Inbetweeners is usually upbeat and happy as there never really is a dull or sad scene.Theres different genres of music played depending on where the scene is held or the mood within the scene.
