Wire in the Blood
In the extract, the woman is shown as a busy working woman. She always seemed on the go and stressed because of her job. We also see that she was too busy with work, and so couldnt spend time with her child, as we see that she is trying to arrange a babysitter. The woman in the extract seems to have a higher status than the man because of her job role. On the other hand, the man is shown to be not as busy with work, and so this is different to the stereotypical man. In the scenes of him looking after the child, it shows us that he is unable to make simple food, which is an example of a sterotypical man. In the scenes shown, it seems as if the woman and man have swapped the stereotypical roles, for example women are usually advertised or seen as in the kitchen cooking, looking after the children and cleaning the house, and men are usually seen to be busy with work and not the one spending most of the time with the children. This extract shows us something different, as they are both countertypes.
